iTunes 8.1 – first look

2 nights ago I updated my Mac to iTunes 8.1 and I haven't noticed much differences in the new update. I think the main update was to have support for the new iPod Shuffle. I've noticed its kind of faster when loading, and it doesn't lock up as often. here are some pictures (nothing new):

Tidy Up! 2.0 Beta Review

Tidy Up! is a Mac application that searches for duplicates. Its basically all the app does. The new version(2.0b1) includes these new features: • Search for EXIF tag. • Basic mode search • Exclusion from the scan of the supported applications, iPhoto, iTunes, Aperture and Mail • When creating smart basket, search inside the library and search inside the a specific playlist, album, mailbox of the supported applications. • Creation of the aliases when trashing items. There's not much to ...

Apple releases new Macs

Just the other week, Apple released their new range of Macs. It seems Apple's rumors are starting to become more and more true. Although there is nothing physically different, Apple claims the range is 'greener, cleaner and faster' The first to be rumored for a change was the Mac Mini, claiming to have numerous USB ports added, more options for display ports, and a faster processor. I'm not a Mac user personally, and I haven't always been a fan of the Mac Mini, and I'm not really ...

MacSnapper review

Today looking for a good screenshot application(just wanted to try something knew), I came across this app called MacSnapper, which is Mac Only(Hence MACSnapper) and after using it for a few hours I'm not all that excited about it. yes, it has the availability of Making screenshots, annotating them and building lessons, tutorials, user guides, which you can export as HTML, PDF and XML, but there's no FTP which is why I would recommend going and downloading Skitch, a similar app but has FTP capab...

MacHeist 3

MacHeist 3 is an online game that offers free Mac Apps at the end of each mission. After mission 1, Freeverse Hearts, AllSecure, and Sticky Notes were were the apps that you could have won. There is also a $2 dollar bundle discount. Mission 2 was tougher but the applications got better. I got both Hyperspaces and Oveflow , which I previously reviewed on my blog. Both are really cool apps which I use everyday. Agent Craig and TimePost were also the available software, but I didn't think it was a ...

Slife 2.1 review

Slife is both a Mac and Windows app that lets you see how much time you spend on each app on your computer. I find it very useful and fun since I always wanted to know which app I used the most. Today the new version of Slife came out, and I've noticed some improvements right off the bat. It loads about 2-3 times quicker when first opening it, and it takes up less RAM(usually took up 200-300MB). -Here are some screenshots

New iMacs and Mac Minis, perhaps?

Over at Ars Technica I read a couple of minutes ago that more evidence has come up that Apple may be releasing new iMacs and Mac Minis as early as tomorrow. One of the main reasons that it is trusted is this picture of the "new" mac mini. It was sent to macrumors. As seen in the image, the Mac Mini will most likely run on the Nvidia 9400M Chipset. Not much of a surprise there since these kinds of chipsets have been seen on the new MacBooks. More and more information about these sumored new Mac...

First looks at Adobe Air 1.5.1

Its only been a mere 15 minutes that I've been using Adobe Air and already I'm noticing differences. First main difference is this: my Twitter client (TweetDeck) isnt even on the list of RAM using apps, because it takes up nowhere NEAR the amount of RAM that it used to. Usually when I start up tweetdeck, after 20 minutes its at the top of the list of most RAM-using apps. second main difference - space bug fixed. Finally after a long 1-2 months of waiting the space bug in Adobe Air is f...

App Of The Week 2/22-3/1: Payback

I have been looking at a lot of apps that I downloaded this week, and I chose payback as the app of the week. Game is $4.99, so even if the game isnt that great to, it is still a hell of a great deal for what it offers, considering the app is 221MB. The game is basically like GTA, you kill people you get points, you can also be in storylines, steal cars in the game. While the graphics arent entirely that great, the game is fun to play. here are some screenshots:

Its Official – Adobe Air Needs Improvements, and now.

It has been about 3-4 months that I've been using Adobe Air and I've been noticing some things in it that seems to be an issue, and it happens in most, if not, all clients that are Adobe Air. First thing's first: RAM. Yes, Adobe is widely known for having RAM-Hogging applications, but come on, to the point where a TWITTER client takes up 1.64GB? (refer to last post) There's no excuse as to why a Twitter client that only has Tweets from following and replies take up almost 1.7GB of memory. Thats ...
