NOVA – Near orbit Vanguard Alliance

I am not the biggest fan of First Person Shooter games, but when a really good one comes out, I am always interested in what the app has to offer. People have been calling NOVA the Halo of iPhone games, so I really wanted to try out what the game was about and if it REALLY compared to Halo in terms of how you played the game. Here are the features from each of the different sections of the game(taken from the app store SINGLE-PLAYER CAMPAIGN: - 13 levels - 5 different enviro...

Qik Releases iPhone 3G Recording Capabilities

A few weeks ago I reviewed the Ustream Broadcasting iPhone app which lets you stream to the internet right from your phone using Ustream. You could also record locally using your iPhone 3G, but there was no way you could edit the video or trim anything out. Last night I saw about 15 tweets on Qik being released for the iPhone 3G. I thought it would just be a usual app that did the same things that the Ustream Broadcaster app did - but I found something different, something that really...

BluePhoneElite 2

Mobile phone managers are apps that give you the ability to access your phone's contacts, message folder, and even its file system through different connectivity methods like Bluetooth, USB and IrDA. I always keep my phone in my pocket and, I find it annoying that I'd have to take the phone out of my pocket whenever I get a phone call or a text message (talk about being too lazy). I have used MyPhoneExplorer on my Sony Ericsson phone back in my early PC days. Unfortunately, MyPhoneExplorer...

You get what you pay for.

Many when estimating the cost of their new OS don't think of all the extra things they need to buy or download to make it usable. Apple has been known for having an OS that is ready out of the box to do so many different applications with so much included. It took someone posting on Facebook about how they love their application that allows them to have multiple desktops to see what Apple really includes when you buy a new machine. Applications Address Book A very simple applicati...

Finally, An Alternative to The Facebook iPhone App

I use Facebook all the time to see statuses from my school friends(since none of them use Twitter). I occasionally use the Facebook App for the iPhone, but it just does not work. It has tons of bugs, crashy, does not work well when viewing your own photos, takes FOREVER to make any status updates or comments, and even if you mark a new inbox message as read, it will still show it as a read message. Overall, the Facebook app by Facebook is terrible. So, when someone on Twitter tweeted usi...

LinkedIn Makes Huge Changes To Their iPhone App

I have not really used LinkedIn - as a matter of fact, I created an account today just to test out the iPhone app. I saw the UI from the iTunes App Store screenshots and I was intrigued by how simple and easy to use the User Interface is. Of course, as you all know, I think the most important aspect of an iPhone app is the User Interface, then features. After using the app for about 15 minutes I was very pleased with how easy the app was to use - considering the actual LinkedIn website is ve...

Top 5 Most Improved Mac Apps of 2009

I usually do a top 5 or top 10 list post on my favorite Music of the year, favorite Mac Apps, etc etc. This year, though, since lots of apps that I use have shown a great improvement, I've decided to do a post on the top 5 most improved Mac apps from 2008 to 2009. 5 - Firefox. Yes, the Firefox you all know. Lots of people have recently bashed me for hating on Firefox, but it just doesn't work for me. Firefox 3.6b5, however, has shown a great deal of improvement, and it seems the way t...

Driver

As you know, I've reviewed a lot of Racing Games for the iPhone and iPod Touch. @JamesManiel on Twitter emailed me the other day with a link to a new iPhone game that has recently come out called Driver. I wasn't really interested in it, but once I found out it was made by Gameloft, I was very interested in seeing what the game had to offer. The game is $6.99 in the App Store. Some of the features in this game include: Breathtaking story mode - 40 missions, 4 cities, additional mo...

Burn .ISO images in OS X easily.

A common mistake new Mac users make is just dropping the .ISO image into the burn folder.  I want you to say it with me, WRONG!  NO!  Bad new Mac user!  What you are going to want is a program to burn. Now, the program I recommend is called Burn.  It does what the name implies,  it burns discs.  Download and install it is as simple as most Mac programs.  The first time it opens,  it will be on the data tab of the program.  What you want to do to burn your .ISO image is switch to the c...

Stone Loops Of Jurassica

Yet another app from a developer that ‘gets it’, is the game Stone Loops. Stone Loops is a line up three or more sort of game, in which stones wind there way along paths in over 100 different levels as you need to get rid of them. You do this by shooting another stone and lining up three or more, or by using any of the number of cool power-ups. If they get to the end before you do this, you loose. Not only is this game insanely addictive, but there are 100 levels with new, awesome loo...
