Trillian For the Mac Alpha Released

Chris Pirillo Tweeted a link to Trillian Alpha for the Mac was released. It seems pretty decent for a Trillian app, considering my Review on Trillian for the iPhone was very negative, considering the poor user interface the app provided. However, the Mac version of Trillian is alright, it comes NOWHERE near iChat in stability, but for those of you who want MSN, Yahoo Messenger, or ICQ, and don't want to use Adium, this would be a good alternative, since it supports the stuff iChat doesn't. ...

Live Video Streaming From ISS

One week ago the ISS got some upgrades which now enables the crew to use high-speed internet. This feature will now open up a world of possibilities for the crew of ISS. A few days ago the first ever tweet from space was sent by Astronaut TJ Creamer using the new connection. From Feb 1st the ISS will start live video streaming the view down to Earth for all to see. Creamer tweets: "Our internal cameras wlll stream to the Web beginning Monday Feb 1 - Wave when you see us!" The ...

iBomber for the iPhone

iBomber is a pretty fun game from the app store that you could play. **This app is free.** It has fairly simple instructions. Destroy enemy ships with bombs from an airplane. It's based in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and many other different places. One downside of the app is that you have to be pin-point on your target. It's pretty hard to take control of the plane (if you're a first time player). But if you practice, you'll master it in no time. Although I haven't played the app thorough...

FriendFeed: A Dead Network?

A few days ago a friend of mine, DannyMinick decided to(in my opinion, out of the blue) close his FriendFeed account. The reason behind closing down his FriendFeed was that he saw it as a dead network, and no one really cared about it anymore. My first reaction to this was "well, he isn't as popular, so obviously he wouldn't get as many comments as someone else, such as Akiva Moskovitz, who has almost 1,500 subscribers on FriendFeed." However, after I thought about it for a few minutes, and it s...

Thoughts on the iPad

I share my thoughts on the Apple iPad. Do I think it lived up to all the hype? Absolutely not. Do I think it’s a failure? Absolutely not as well. In fact, I think it’s quite a good product despite not living up to the hype. And that is just my point here – I think people need to get over the fact that it’s not what we expected, or truly wanted, and look at the product the way it is now. No, Apple in my opinion for the first time did not at all live up to expectations, but how coul...

A New Type of Facebook Spam?

Spam is everywhere you go. Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn. Facebook's spam is mostly lots of group invites, maybe flooding of your wall by your friends, but really Facebook isn't known for unknown people spamming(or attempting) to spam you. However, this is starting to become not true lately. The other day I got the following email: Of course, I already use Facebook and have an account, so I immediately knew that this email was spam(it was inviting me to use Facebook). This surprise...

MP3 Players – Which one to get?

For my first blog on this site I would like to announce that I am a big music addict. I do not care if the music genre is country, if it sounds good to me then it is a good song. But the way that one experiences music is another thing. People have certain needs to listen to their music. Either people run while they listen to their MP3 players or people like to be completely entertained by listening to good music as well as watching videos. So when you are out looking for a MP3 player please take...

New York Times App

A few days ago, Danny Minick made a tweet about the new New York Times Adobe Air app that recently came out. He also linked a screenshot, and I seemed really interested in the application. It provides an amazing UI, and very easy to use. The app is pretty much New York times on your mac, just with some features missing(on purpose). To begin, you can only read full articles from the main page, all other articles from any other section of the "newspaper" requires a $3.45 subscription. ...

Why IWNet is the worst thing that has happened to gaming in 10 years.

October 23rd 2009 Infinity Ward released the 6th version of Call of Duty, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. As in any other version of Call of Duty, the champaign was really short. However the previous versions have made up for that by presenting an amazing multiplayer experience. But, In this version I got very, very disappointed. Most multiplayer games work by the use of a "dedicated server". This is a machine on a high speed connection that is dedicated to running the server that manages...
